SHORT TAKES ON THE DRIFTING WRECKAGE – OVERNIGHT:

TRUE? – FROM RASMUSSEN:    The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll, Sponsored by SLANTED from Sharyl Attkisson, for Monday shows that 49% of Likely U.S. Voters approve of President Trump’s job performance. Fifty-one percent (50%) disapprove.  The latest figures include 36% who Strongly Approve of the job Trump is doing and 40% who Strongly Disapprove. This gives him a Presidential Approval Index rating of -4.   These figures may appear out of whack with other polls, and may be, but Rasmussen has a good record of accuracy.  It's possible, and this is speculation, that Trump could be benefiting from a sympathy vote.

Twitter has banned President Donald Trump. Google, Amazon, and Apple shut down Parler, a conservative social media site. No one knows what’s true or false anymore. And the language police are running rampant, with lawmakers on Capitol Hill going so far as to ban words like “father, mother, son, daughter, brother, sister.”  So, it makes perfect sense that Orwell’s famous book “1984” is once again the best-selling book on Amazon.  Orwell, whose real name was Eric Arthur Blair, wrote the book in 1949, his last completed novel before his death.  An opponent of totalitarianism, Orwell served in the Loyalist forces in the Spanish Civil War. And as fascism began to sweep the world, he was inspired to write a novel about what would happen should it win.  Orwell is coming true.  So is Ronald Reagan, when he warned us that "freedom is a fragile thing and is never more than one generation away from extinction. It is not ours by inheritance; it must be fought for and defended constantly by each generation, for it comes only once to a people.  Those who have known freedom and then lost it have never known it again."
